“What’s one big reason you’re writing this story?”

Well, I had the idea over a year ago, and the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. I had almost forgotten what it was like to be so excited about a new story. The central character does something truly horrific at the beginning of the story, and then spends the rest of the story trying to set things right, and in the process, she grows into a different, better person. I liked the idea of centering the story on someone who is not a standard-issue hero. In fact, in some ways she is her own antagonist at the beginning. Also, I got to set this story in a part of my story world I haven’t explored before, and I really enjoyed the additional world building.
